Mission Statement

What Peak Discs is, what it does, and why it's more than just a store.

Peak Discs is an online disc golf store, selling a wide variety of discs, gear, and accessories. However, I want Peak Discs to become much more than just a store.

To me Peak Discs does, and should...

  • Provide a growing variety of great products and brands to all customers
  • Facilitate the growth of the sport in a diverse and inclusive way
  • Encourage and engage in sustainable practices
  • Provide services that give back to the local community
  • Operate in a way that does not sacrifice morality for profit or personal gain

Some of these are currently in practice, and the others are in the works. Peak Discs is a new company (founded January 2021), and truthfully its only employee is myself, Cameron Small (owner/proprietor).

I have a lot of plans and ideas I want to enact for Peak Discs. I want to become a local go-to store that anyone, regardless of experience, can come to if they love disc golf or are merely curious about it.

I would love to carry all the major brands and many of the smaller ones, and encourage people to try new brands and discs that they haven't before. There are too many amazing discs out there to be limited by what is familiar, and I want to support the smaller businesses that are doing great things.

I want to provide clinics for people interested in the sport, and give them the basic knowledge and space to enable them to try it for themselves and fall in love with it. Regardless of gender, race, age, income, or anything else, disc golf is a sport for all and I want to help make that clear.

I want to minimize the impact Peak Discs has on the environment. This will be a continuous goal that will require time and effort. There is so much here I would love to do, such as phase out all plastic in my packaging, minimize how much gas I use making deliveries, and place wholesale orders in a way that minimizes packaging used by the distributors. This will take time and is unfortunately heavily impacted by cost. Nevertheless, this is always a primary factor in my decisions for the company.

I've had so many ideas and inspirations through the course of Peak Discs so far that I cannot possibly fit them all here and articulate my thoughts and feelings on all of them. However, I sincerely hope that you now have a better understanding of some of my plans and goals for this company going forward. I've been surprised at how much I've been able to accomplish in just a few months already. Even back in December of 2020 starting a business seemed impossible but I've been able to do things that I'm incredibly proud of. As Peak Discs grows, and continues to receive support from friends, family, and customers, I am sure that it will continue to grow into more than just a company, that it'll grow into a force of good for the local community as well as disc golf worldwide.

If you've read this far I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you for your support of Peak Discs, because without you none of this would be possible. Peak Discs is a dream-come-true of mine and I want to see it grow and flourish. Hopefully it will, and will grow into the force of good I see that it can be.
